A garage door that only opens partway in Salinas often points to a tired spring, an open-limit setting, or track binding.

There's a local angle to a garage door only opens partway in Salinas: the area's coastal salt air and inland heat is hard on garage doors — salt air corrodes hardware, and inland heat strains openers. Our Salinas techs see these failures spike around every late-summer heat wave, so they track down the real cause instead of masking the symptom.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your garage door only opens partway

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

A weak or broken spring

Without full tension, the opener stalls before the door is up.

An open-limit set too low

The opener stops early because it thinks the door is fully open.

Track binding or worn rollers

Friction partway up halts travel.

How we fix it

Fixed fast by a local Salinas pro

We check the springs, reset the limits, service the track and rollers, and confirm full travel.
