A garage door that slams shut in Yuma has lost the spring tension that controls its descent — a serious safety issue we treat as urgent.

In Yuma, the weather is often part of the story behind a garage door slams shut. Months of relentless 100°+ desert heat mean 100°+ heat fries openers and sun bakes & warps panels across Yuma County — exactly the kind of wear a local tech knows to check first.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your garage door slams shut

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

A broken spring

With no counterbalance, the full weight of the door drops fast.

A snapped cable

A failed cable removes the control on one or both sides.

A failed opener or worn pulley

Worn lift hardware can let the door fall.

How we fix it

Fixed fast by a local Yuma pro

We secure the door, replace the spring or cable, and confirm a controlled, balanced close before we leave.
