A garage door opener chain that came off in San Angelo is usually a tension or worn-sprocket issue. We can re-seat and re-tension it the same day.

Why does this keep happening in San Angelo? A lot of it comes down to the local climate. Wild temperature swings and hail takes its toll — hail dents panels, and temp swings fatigue springs — so a garage door chain came off is one of the more common calls our San Angelo crews run.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your garage door chain came off

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

A loose chain
Over time the chain stretches and slips off the sprocket.
A worn sprocket or gear
A worn drive sprocket lets the chain jump.
A jammed door putting strain on the chain
If the door binds, the chain can be thrown off.
How we fix it

Fixed fast by a local San Angelo pro

We re-seat and re-tension the chain, replace a worn sprocket or gear, clear any binding, and test the full cycle.
