When a garage door won't close in Pomona, the safety sensors are the usual suspect — but a few other issues can be behind it too. It's almost always fixable the same day.

A garage door won't close rarely happens in a vacuum. Pomona's coastal salt air and inland heat wears doors down — inland heat strains openers — and we get a clear run of these calls every late-summer heat wave. A local pro fixes the underlying cause and backs it with a one-year warranty.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your garage door won't close

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

Blocked or misaligned safety sensors

If the photo-eyes don't see each other, the door reverses by design. A bump, cobweb, or dirty lens is often all it takes.

Something in the door's path

A trash can, tool, or even a small object can trip the safety reversal.

A bad limit setting

If the close-limit is off, the opener thinks the door has already closed.

Worn rollers or track damage

Binding in the tracks can stop the door partway and trigger a reversal.

How we fix it

Fixed fast by a local Pomona pro

We realign and test the sensors, check the limits and tracks, and confirm the door closes and seals every time.
