Tracks Repair & Replacement

Your garage door tracks are the two steel rails that guide the rollers up and over every time you open or close the door. They look simple, but they take a real beating, and when one gets bent, loose, or clogged with grime, the whole door can bind up, get noisy, or jump off the rail entirely. If your door is already off the tracks right now, don't force it, that's a safety hazard, and we can usually get a tech out to you the same day.

Warning signs

Signs your tracks need attention

The door scrapes, grinds, or rubs as it moves
A healthy door glides quietly. Metal-on-metal scraping or grinding usually means a track is bent, pinched, or out of alignment, and the rollers are dragging against it instead of rolling freely.
You can see a visible gap between the roller and the rail
Stand inside with the door down and look at where the rollers sit. If you spot a gap between the rollers and the track, or daylight where the track has pulled away from the wall, the door is at risk of coming off.
The door slows down, sticks, or stops at the same spot every time
When the door hangs up in one consistent place, there's often a dent, dent-causing debris, or a bend in the track right at that point. The door is fighting the rail to get past it.
The tracks look bent, dented, or crooked
A car bump, a heavy hit, or just years of stress can warp the rails. Even a small bend throws off the alignment enough to cause binding, and a big one can drop the door off the track.
The mounting brackets are loose or the track wobbles
Give a bracket a gentle nudge (door closed). If the track shifts, rattles, or you see loose or missing bolts, the rail isn't holding its position, and that misalignment only gets worse with every cycle.
The door has come off the track
If the rollers have popped out and the door is hanging crooked or jammed, stop using it and don't try to wrestle it back on. A door under spring tension can move suddenly. This one's an emergency, and it's worth a same-day call.
