A garage door that won't stay closed in Joliet is usually a sensor or limit-setting issue telling the opener to reverse. It's typically a quick adjustment.

Living with Joliet's freezing winters means garage doors work harder here than most people realize. summer storms surge openers and road salt corrodes hardware both feed straight into a garage door won't stay closed, which is why our Will County techs treat the cause, not just the door in front of them.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your garage door won't stay closed

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

Close-limit set too high
If the opener thinks the floor is higher than it is, it reverses.
Sensitive or misaligned sensors
Touchy photo-eyes can send the door back up.
A bad logic board
Occasionally the opener's board misreads the door position.
