A garage door that won't stay closed in Edison is usually a sensor or limit-setting issue telling the opener to reverse. It's typically a quick adjustment.

Why does this keep happening in Edison? A lot of it comes down to the local climate. Freezing winters takes its toll — cold snaps brittle springs, and road salt corrodes hardware — so a garage door won't stay closed is one of the more common calls our Edison crews run.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your garage door won't stay closed

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

Close-limit set too high
If the opener thinks the floor is higher than it is, it reverses.
Sensitive or misaligned sensors
Touchy photo-eyes can send the door back up.
A bad logic board
Occasionally the opener's board misreads the door position.
How we fix it

Fixed fast by a local Edison pro

We tune the limits and sensors, test the logic board, and confirm the door stays sealed.

Why call a pro?

Garage doors are heavy and spring-loaded. A licensed tech diagnoses the real cause, fixes it safely, and backs it with a 1-year warranty — usually the same day you call.
