There's a local angle to a opener runs but the door won't move in Davie: the area's heat and humidity is hard on garage doors — humidity corrodes hardware, and storms surge opener boards. Our Davie techs see these failures spike around every summer storm, so they track down the real cause instead of masking the symptom.

What might be wrong

Common causes when your opener runs but the door won't move

Here's what our local techs check first — and what each one usually means.

A disengaged trolley

If the emergency-release was pulled, the opener runs but isn't connected to the door.

A stripped opener gear

A worn drive gear spins without moving the carriage.

A broken spring making the door too heavy

The opener runs but can't lift a door with no spring help.
